Endless looping creativity…
When it comes to live performance, one looping bank simply isn’t enough. Which is why the Infinity Looper 2 comes equipped with two independent loops and a highly accessible interface for players to indulge in a fluid and painless creative process. By utilising the two slots, you can layer your verse section and immediately switch to a fresh loop bank, giving you a blank canvas to decorate with your playing. And the minute you change back to the original, all your initial loops will return. The best part? You can delete one of your slots whilst the other is simultaneously playing back, meaning you can dive straight into your next riff and start looping instantly.
But, with so much overdubbing, things can get cluttered very quickly. Luckily, the Infinity 2 hosts stereo connectivity along with both wet and dry routing modes. What this means, is that you can perform your loops with clean pass-through mixed together, or you can send the looped audio to out 2, whilst clean pass-through is directed to out 1. Put simply, players have the choice between blending their loops and dry signal or separating them in a stereo effect. The choice is yours.
…with a few tricks up its sleeve
The modern performer requires modern functionality. So, naturally, the Infinity 2 incorporates a number of creative features to give you an even wider scope to innovate your performance. By using the mode switch, players can flick between 'stop', 'once', and 'octave' modes. The stop mode does what it says on the tin. Press once to stop after the loop cycle, or twice for an instant reaction. You can even hold it down for a fade-out, ideal for live situations. The once function allows you to restart the current loop for a single playback, or you can repeatedly press for a unique stutter effect – perfect for ending sequences and phrases.
One of the more creative elements is the octave feature. When activated, the sample rate of your loop is halved and therefore an octave lower and half the speed. Not only does this give your original loop a different sound, but you can overdub during this playback in real-time and, when returned to the factory sample rate, your overdub will be an octave higher and double the speed. Each of these modes can be controlled via the external Infinity 2 Remote, too. So you have endless ways of experimenting with your songwriting and live sound in one place.
Keep it moving
In addition to the traditional volume knob, the Infinity 2 features a decay control for players to dictate the fade-out of their sound. When set to max, the loops act as normal and repeat until you stop them. However, by dialing back the decay, your loops will gradually fade out of the mix and therefore your sound is continuously moving and changing as you keep playing. This allows your loops to work as a delay-like effect that repeat in the background and layer on top of one another. So, whether you want infinite cycles or just one repetition, you're in total control of your music's direction.
