Resonant semi-hollow construction
The Kingbolt Air 390 is built around a chambered mahogany body with a full-length centre block, creating the ideal balance of warmth, sustain, and controlled resonance. A solid spruce top introduces additional sparkle and harmonic richness, giving chords greater depth and lead lines enhanced clarity. The semi-hollow construction delivers the airy response players love while keeping unwanted feedback firmly under control, making the guitar equally capable in the studio and on louder stages. Finished with Reverend's ultra-thin UV-cured coating, the body resonates freely for a lively, responsive playing experience that lets every note breathe.
Powerful pickup versatility
Three Reverend Steelhead P90 pickups provide the unmistakable punch and character of classic P90s while incorporating a hum-cancelling design for quieter operation. Designed specifically for their individual positions, they deliver balanced output and consistent response across every selection. The five-way selector is joined by a push-pull Studio Switch that adds neck-and-bridge and all-three-pickup combinations, giving access to seven distinct pickup configurations. Reverend's Bass Contour control further expands the tonal palette by tightening low frequencies or reshaping the pickups for brighter, leaner voices when required.
Built for confident performance
A roasted maple neck provides outstanding stability thanks to a specialised heat treatment that removes moisture and impurities, helping reduce seasonal movement while adding an attractive vintage appearance. The medium oval profile and 12-inch radius fingerboard create a comfortable playing experience across all 22 frets, while the Wilkinson WVS50 IIK tremolo offers smooth, expressive vibrato. Reverend Pin-Lock tuners, a Boneite nut, Triple-Tree string tree, six-bolt neck plate, and dual-action truss rod all contribute to exceptional tuning stability, reliable intonation, and straightforward maintenance.
Premium Reverend engineering
Every detail of the Kingbolt Air 390 reflects Reverend's focus on practical performance and long-term reliability. Proprietary dome knobs reduce accidental adjustments while remaining easy to read on stage, and the reinforced steel jack plate will survive years of cable changes unscathed. Premium Alpha control pots, polyester capacitors, a Pure Tone output jack, and a treble bleed circuit ensure dependable operation while preserving clarity throughout the guitar's volume range. Every instrument is hand-initialled and inspected by the technician who completes its final setup, providing an additional mark of the care and craftsmanship invested in every Reverend guitar.
