Its swamp ash body is paired with a roasted hard maple neck and fingerboard, giving you a solid foundation with a smooth Edgeless rolled fingerboard design. Marcus Miller Super-J Revolution pickups use '70s spacing and USA plain enamel coils to produce clear, detailed jazz-bass tones. And there?s plenty of control over that sound. The Heritage-3 preamp combines three-band EQ with adjustable middle frequency, while an active/passive switch lets you quickly choose between detailed tone shaping and a more traditional passive setup. A 34" scale, C-shaped neck, bone nut, and HeavyMass II bridge round out the playing specification. You'll also get an official Sire gig bag, handy for keeping your V8 protected between rehearsals, gigs, and sessions.

The swamp ash body gives the V8 the foundation for its jazz-bass sound, while the five-string configuration extends the instrument's range. Its new Marcus Miller jazz-type body shape is combined with Super-J Revolution pickups, positioned using ’70s pickup spacing. These pickups feature USA plain enamel coils and are designed to produce a clear, detailed response, helping individual notes come through with definition. That makes the V8 well suited to players who want the familiar character of a J-style bass alongside the added range of a fifth string.
The Marcus Miller Heritage-3 preamp gives you plenty of control directly from the bass. Treble, middle, and bass controls let you adjust the core frequency ranges, while a dedicated middle-frequency control helps you choose exactly where your mid adjustment takes effect. You can also blend between the two Super-J Revolution pickups to find the balance that works for your sound. Prefer a simpler signal path? Flick the mini toggle into passive mode. Combined with the dual volume/tone control, this setup gives you practical options for adapting your tone to different playing situations.
Roasted hard maple is used for both the neck and fingerboard, with the neck finished in satin for a smooth feel in your hand. The fingerboard also features Sire's Edgeless design, which uses rolled edges to create a more comfortable transition around the sides of the neck. A C-shaped profile provides a familiar foundation for your fretting hand, while the 34" scale and 9.5" fingerboard radius complete the playing setup. You also get medium frets and a 46mm bone nut, giving this five-string V8 a carefully specified neck for regular playing.
The V8 comes equipped with practical hardware for regular playing and transport. Sire's HeavyMass II bridge provides a solid anchor point for the strings, while premium open-gear tuners handle tuning adjustments.
