Key Features
Modbap Osiris Wavetable Oscillator Module is a new bi-fidelity 96kHz wavetable oscillator, with a gritty LoFi flavour that is compact in size with just 12HP, but also comes loaded with features. This hands-on module provides you with four banks of 32x32 wavetables, 128 in total, with each wave being capable of having up to 32 waveforms at 256 waveforms per sample. Endless possibilities await as Osiris comes with built-in waveforms ready for you to use or you can design your own in Modbaps bespoke free, open-source software editor OsirisEdit and import them via micro-sd card.
Featured on Osiris is six plus, timbre modes including FM and phase modulation, an independant sub-oscillator, LoFi processing, broad CV modulation capabilities and a pitch quantiser so you can really open up your wave shaping and combine different funtionalities to create a sound like nothing else. Versatility is key with Osiris and you're gifted a comprehensive set of tools that will keep you finding new sonic combinations that will take your synthesis down undiscovered avenues

A leading factor in what makes Osiris so uniquely vast in opportunities is the Timbre Modes control section adorned on the front of this module. Via the CV-enabled knob you are opened up into a world of sonic possibility that allows you to blend modes to make for some one-of-a-kind sounds when changing between them making the module an instrument in and of itself. with the Timbre Amount dial, you are able to select exactly how much of the selected timbre you get at one time.
Timbre modes available are, Unison which layers a second oscillator that can be detuned up to an octave, Bend that compresses the waveform to make it thin and raspy, Fold which introduces symmetric 2-stage wave folding by mirroring the waveform then folding it, Sync that repeats the cycle count making for softer edges, Noise which, as the name suggests, will add window-synced noise to the waveform phase and FM x1 - 8 which applies phase modulation to the oscillator using the same waveform through a ratio of up to eight smoothly mixed stages. Various options, endless possibilities.
Osiris features an added sub-oscillator with an extensive set of parameters so you can really beef up the main oscillator signal or treat it as a completely independent oscillator, the choice is yours for whatever situation you find yourself in. The sub-oscillator has its own set of controls and functions including v/oct, mix control knob and mono output. The sub-wave section enables you to select your waveform for the sub-oscillator and you can choose between - square, sine, triangle, -1 and -2.
Modbap took inspiration from the character of old Amiga computer audio to bring sample jitter, phase drift and resolution reduction to Osiris and make it more than just a simple bit-crusher. The LoFi knob controls the fidelity of your oscillator allowing you to add just a few subtle degradation articles or completely destroy the wave and dialling in the right amount couldn't be simpler, as not having an set on/off switch and instead having a variable dial allows you to have real-time control over your processing.
