Clear, low-noise preamps
High-quality preamps help the ZED-16FX capture microphones and other connected sources with clarity. Their low-noise performance provides a dependable starting point for both recording and live sound, helping preserve the detail and dynamics of your performance.
This makes the mixer practical across a range of applications, from capturing performances and developing recordings to managing microphones and instruments during a live show.
Connect instruments directly
Two Class A FET high-impedance inputs let you connect compatible instruments directly to the ZED-16FX. Guitarists and bassists can incorporate their instruments into the mixer without adding unnecessary equipment to the signal path.
Direct instrument connectivity also helps reduce additional boxes and cables, making it easier to build a tidy recording or live setup while keeping essential controls within easy reach.
Responsive MusiQ EQ
Allen & Heath's MusiQ EQ provides responsive tonal shaping for connected sources. This gives you practical control for correcting problem frequencies, balancing instruments or creatively adjusting the character of individual signals.
The hands-on approach makes tonal adjustments quick and intuitive, particularly when you need to respond to changing sources during rehearsals, recording sessions or performances.
16 integrated effects
The ZED-16FX includes 16 onboard effects, providing useful processing without requiring separate external effects hardware. Reverb, delay and modulation options give you different ways to add space, movement and character to vocals and instruments.
Keeping these effects inside the mixer can also simplify your setup, particularly for live performances where reducing the amount of additional equipment can make preparation and operation more straightforward.
USB recording and playback
Integrated USB connectivity makes it easy to incorporate a computer into your setup. Audio can be transferred between the mixer and computer for recording and playback, combining traditional hands-on analog mixing with a digital recording workflow.
This makes the ZED-16FX particularly useful for self-recording musicians who want physical mixing controls while working with computer-based recording software.
Made for flexible setups
The ZED-16FX brings its preamps, instrument inputs, MusiQ EQ, integrated processing and USB functionality together in one practical mixer. Its versatile design allows it to move comfortably between recording, rehearsal and live sound applications.
Accessible controls keep important mixing functions close at hand, helping you concentrate on balancing and shaping your sources rather than dealing with an unnecessarily complicated workflow.
