The XDJ-700 centres its workflow around a 7-inch full-colour LCD touchscreen, giving quick access to the functions used most during a set. The display is arranged to keep browsing, waveform monitoring, and playback information clear at a glance, so less time is spent digging through menus.
A QWERTY keyboard can be called up on screen for keyword searching, while the rotary selector provides a more traditional way to move through libraries. Track artwork, list view, and custom display options also help with fast identification. Wave and Wave Zoom views show the structure of a track visually, and needle search allows rapid jumps to specific parts simply by touching the waveform.
This player is especially useful where space is limited. Its compact body and removable stand make it easier to position in smaller booths, bedroom rigs, and home studio setups without losing the feel of a club-focused deck.
The layout takes cues from larger Pioneer DJ players, so the transition into an existing workflow feels natural. That matters in shared booths and practice environments, where familiar placement can make performances feel more settled. The reduced size also opens up more setup options for venues or DJs working with tight tables, portable rigs, or multi-player arrangements that need careful spacing.
The XDJ-700 includes performance features designed to support more expressive mixing while keeping timing under control. Hot Cues make it possible to trigger preset points instantly, while Hot Loops and Auto Beat Loop functions help shape transitions and build energy during a set. Quantize works with rekordbox-analysed tracks to correct timing for cues, loops, reverse actions, and other edits, helping performance moves stay locked to the beat grid.
Slip Mode keeps the track running silently in the background during scratching, looping, reversing, pausing, or hot cueing, then returns playback to the correct point when the action ends. Beat Sync can also align tempo and beat position with connected players, making multi-deck mixing more fluid.
rekordbox compatibility makes the XDJ-700 a practical option for organised digital performance. Tracks can be prepared on a PC or Mac in advance, with cue points, loops, beat grids, and personal preferences stored for quick recall. Playback is available directly from rekordbox USB media, and supported mobile devices can also be connected for loading tracks.
ProDJ Link extends that workflow further by allowing up to four players or laptops to share a single source over LAN, reducing duplicate media and simplifying larger setups. My Settings support adds another useful touch, allowing preferred system settings to be saved and recalled easily when switching between DJs.
