Key Features
The Stam Audio SA-T69 Microphone Preamp and Equalizer is a premium piece of outboard equipment that delivers pristine audio fidelity and tonal shaping options. A recreation of a classic microphone preamp and EQ, the SA-T69 authentically reproduces the sonic characteristics and behaviour of a vintage preamp and EQ that was specifically designed for Island Studios. Staying true to the original design in every sense, the Stam Audio SA-T69 has been designed using premium components and parts to imprint the same sonic signature as the original. A Sowter input transformer ensures maximum fidelity of your audio signal with no loss of frequency caused by interference and distortion, Carnhill inductors are used to ensure consistent gain while Vishay capacitors and ohmite carbon resistors are used to match the frequency response and musical harmonics of the original.
Ideal for a huge range of audio sources, the XLR inputs paired with the 1/4" and XLR outputs ensure that you can plug in your favourite instruments and microphones, including condenser microphones thanks to the built-in phantom power and integrate it into your existing rack setup.
Fully-featured, the SA-T69 includes a highly powerful and flexible three-band EQ with a built-in switchable high-pass filter. Now, it's easier than ever to shape the tone of your microphone or instrument to suit the sound and style of your mix or to carve any unwanted frequencies out from your audio signal.

Designed to replicate the original design, the SA-T69 processes your signal immaculately, ensuring that no frequencies or signal strength are lost throughout the circuitry. Thanks to the use of Sowter input transformers, your audio signal will remain consistent and precise throughout each of the 7-step rotary gain switches. Each step is a +10dB gain increase, allowing you to dial in the ideal amount of input gain for any instrument you need to plug into your SA-T69. Whether you're looking to connect a direct instrument such as an electric guitar or bass, connect your favourite vocal microphone including condensers or plug a line-in from your synthesizer, the SA-T69 will imprint the signature sound of vintage analog warmth into your signal without introducing any noise, interference or distortion.
Designed to emulate the EQ from Helios consoles that were built specifically for Island Studios, the SA-T69 allows you to shape the sound of your instrument or microphone before committing it to a recording with a tremendous level of flexibility. With the aid of two Carnhill inductors, the SA-T69's EQ section is extremely musical and doesn't introduce any peak distortion, even at high boosting levels of each individual frequency band. Designed with three bands, the Stam Audio SA-T69 features a 10kHz high-shelf band with a switchable Peak/Through to change the response of your shelf, a sweepable low-cut to remove any erroneous low-end that can muddy your sound, a wide-ranging sweepable mid-frequency and a sweepable low-frequency from 15-400Hz. To match the response of the original unit that the SA-T69 is emulating, Vishay capacitors and ohmite carbon resistors are used to match the frequency response and musical harmonics of the original.
This level of flexibility and power allows you to tailor the sound of your instrument or microphone before processing it with further outboard equipment or plug-ins within your DAW. Mixing becomes that much easier when the source tone you are working with fits the mix better, and carving out a space in your mix with the onboard EQ will go a long way to creating professional productions.
Using premium parts and components, the Stam Audio SA-T69 is an essential piece of equipment for all professional recording studios. Matching the sonic characteristic and behaviour of the original preamp the SA-T69 is modelling, the Stam Audio uses nothing but the best parts available to create a revolutionary audio experience. Even down to aesthetic choices such as the Elma-style knobs, the SA-T69 is capable of adding unique, authentic and vintage flavour to your productions and mixes.
