The Loquelic Iteritas Percido provides another envelope, which makes it great for use as a full percussion synth voice. This envelope can be shaped and routed to pitch controls, opening it up to more creative options.
You’ll get full control of this envelope. Adjust the attack and decay, control the shape of the curve and length to create a range of sounds. Six attenuverters route the envelope to pitches and parameters. When at 12:00, the envelope is off. Turn it clockwise for a full positive send, and turn it counter-clockwise for an inverted envelope send.
You’ll also find a manual trigger button, allowing you to reset the envelope in any mode. Additionally, there’s an output to send the envelope to other modules for modulation, letting you get even more creative.
Three different modes give you the option to shape and control sounds in different ways. Set the module to Free to let the oscillators continually run whilst you tweak and experiment with the control knobs. Trigger mode lets the LIP expect a trigger to start the envelope. In Loop mode, the envelope will continually regenerate.
Set to any of these modes, then start twiddling knobs and you’ll soon see how powerful the Loquelic Iteritas Percido can be.
It’s all about continuous tone control. The Loquelic Iteritas Percido is designed to be a functional oscillator for both sound designers and musicians. Its controls are easy to use, and you’ll soon find you get to grips with each control just by getting straight in there and tweaking.
The sound possibilities are huge. You can go from super simple calm sounds, all the way to extreme and nasty sounds. The algorithms that are used have some interesting rough spots. For example, PM mode has a nasty half-sample-rate self-oscillation that can produce some interesting, yet harsh sounds.
The Loquelic Iteritas Percido offers three different algorithms. With the flick of a switch you can create an unbelievable variety of sounds. In the upper position, the VO algorithm is active. This generates complex overtone structures that sound very raw. The Damp control can increase the harmonics content.
The second position is the Summation Synthesis Algorithm. This creates very clean and metallic sounds. The final algorithm is a two-oscillator phase modulation synthesis. This is a simple algorithm and the sounds from this are extremely digital.
There’s only really a few controls on this module, yet when combined you can create a whole range of different sounds and tones. You can control the pitch of both oscillators. Combine them together to create weird and wonderful sounds.
As well as these, you’ll find controls that let you control the phase modulation between the two oscillators. Morph changes the waveforms, varying from sine, triangle and saw, whilst Fold sets the wave fold – great for creating metallic FM sounds.
