D.I-to-Mic Simulation
Acoustifier gives your D.I. signal the accurate sound of a miked acoustic guitar by offering a range of simulated acoustic guitar bodies to choose from. You choose from dreadnought, jumbo, and concert shapes, each giving a different sense of weight and character. Then you select a dynamic, condenser, or ribbon mic to match the tone you’re after. You can also run stereo setups, using either XY or spaced pairs, and balance body and neck positions until the sound fits your playing style. It’s a straightforward way to build a believable acoustic image without setting up a single mic.
Dedicated SSL EQ
Acoustifier features a full EQ section designed to keep your workflow fast. A tilt band lets you brighten or soften the whole signal in seconds, which is great when you’re comparing guitars or switching parts. High-pass and low-pass filters tidy up unwanted rumble or harshness, while three parametric midrange bands help you focus on problem areas or emphasise the character you want. Everything shows up on a responsive visual display, so you can adjust things quickly and hear the difference straight away.
Onboard Reverb
The reverb engine adds space and dimension to your tone that feels believable on an acoustic guitar, whether you prefer the intimacy of a room or the smoother lift of a chamber or plate. Hall settings are available when you need something larger, and each option is easy to blend. To maintain clarity and focus to your guitar sound, a ducking feature dynamically adjusts the reverb level in response to your playing style and the level, meaning your guitar always sounds front and centre with a beautiful reverb decay.
Integrated SSL Compressor
Known for their compressors and dynamics processing, SSL have included an integrated compressor, letting you control the response of your acoustic guitar simulation. Everything from subtle to aggressive compression is possible to solve any dynamic problems you might face when recording acoustic guitar D.I’s. The Auto-Gain evens things out as you adjust and the Mix control makes parallel compression quick to set up. In addition, the compressor can be moved throughout the signal chain including post-reverb if you want to smooth the whole signal, a useful option when you’re building a polished acoustic part that needs to sit comfortably alongside other instruments.
