Legato that adapts to your playing
Every legato patch is designed to respond musically to how you play. Multiple dynamic intervals and flexible interval types are triggered by speed and velocity, allowing transitions to feel natural rather than fixed. Faster passages remain clear and controlled, while slower lines breathe with realistic phrasing. This approach helps you focus on performance instead of switching patches constantly, keeping ideas flowing while maintaining a convincing, violin-led sound.
Extended techniques for deeper expression
The Professional edition includes Spitfire’s most advanced string patches to date. Additional portamento and detaché legato styles expand how notes connect, while accented marcato and soft swell attacks add control over single long notes. These options make it easier to shape emotion within a line, whether you’re writing delicate passages or confident, forward-moving themes, all without relying on heavy automation.
Detailed ensemble captured at Abbey Road
Sixteen first violins were recorded together in Abbey Road Studio One, giving the ensemble a coherent, natural sound. With 16 microphone signals available, you can move from intimate detail to full cinematic width directly inside the library. The extensive sampling depth ensures consistency across dynamics and articulations, so the sound remains believable across soloistic lines and dense orchestral arrangements alike.
Designed for efficient professional workflows
This library balances depth with speed. Key-switched articulations, velocity-controlled attacks, and clearly structured patches reduce the need for constant editing. You can sketch ideas quickly, then refine performance detail as needed, using the same core sounds. It’s a practical setup for composers working to deadlines who still need expressive control and reliable realism in every cue.
Reviews
"I believe this is the closest we have ever got to the ‘perfect’ string sound in my head. Full of vibrancy, passion and musicality, it is a joy to play!" - Paul Thomson - Co-founder of Spitfire Audio
"The best-sounding strings I’ve ever heard." - Simon Franglen - Composer (Avatar: The Way Of The Water, The Magnificent Seven, Titanic)
"This new library is OUTSTANDING. The biggest compliment I can pay to ANY library is if any of it makes it into my main templates. Well I spent yesterday replacing ALL of my orchestral percussion libraries with a combo of the High/Low libraries." - Ty Unwin - Composer (Awake, Pastewka, On My Way)
"The ARO 1st Violins have become my main violins. They are so playable it's insane. To me more needs to be said for just how easy they are to program." - Digifreq
