Teenage Engineering EP 133 K.O. II
The new champion of samplers
The EP 133 K.O. II - the next evolution of the world's most popular sampler. Building upon the legacy of the legendary PO-33 K.O!, this impressive machine adds even more power, enhanced sampling capabilities, a fully redesigned sequencer, and brand new punch-in 2.0™ effects. With a workflow that allows you to go from idea to track faster than ever before, the EP 133 K.O. II takes pocket operators to a whole new level.
Record sounds from your surroundings, sample your own voice, favourite synths, vinyl records, or any audio you have on your phone. The EP 133 K.O. II lets you capture and manipulate audio in various ways, giving you endless creative possibilities.
Advanced sequencing with punch-in effects
Sequencing your samples and loops is a breeze with the EP 133 K.O. II. It comes pre-loaded with a curated selection of drums, bass, and keys to get you started. Customize and automate parameters such as filter and pitch, and enhance your sounds with stereo effects, compression, and the next generation punch-in effects.
The EP 133 K.O. II features a powerful sequencer engine that enables you to build beats and variations quickly and intuitively. Similar to most digital audio workstations (DAWs), you can swap patterns per group instantly, allowing you to experiment with different combinations of beats and basslines. The commit button freezes a specific point in time, making it easy to add verses or breaks to your composition. All of these operations occur in real-time while you play, ensuring a seamless and immersive music-making experience.
Easy automation and a range of connection options
From the studio to the stage, the EP 133 K.O II delivers hands-on control like no other sampler. Navigate between 9 project pages, each with an 80,000 note capacity. Create automation when recording by adjusting any of the 12 fader assignments, making it perfect for live performances. You can also sequence your sounds in real-time or activate quantize mode for a more regimented sound. For those familiar with Teenage Engineering units, the EP 133 incorporates the same loop mode found in OB-4 with length and slide parameters to fine-tune your loop.
Offering a wide range of connection options, you can use the EP 133 K.O. II with a wide variety of external gear, from computers to synths and other MIDI devices. Its USB-C connector ensures high-speed signal transfer and also doubles up to power the unit. MIDI I/O connectivity allows you to use the sampler alongside your favourite MIDI gear. You can also sync external gear using the sync I/O or incorporate external audio using the audio input and output connection. The unit can also be powered via 4 x AAA batteries, making it perfect for musicians on the move.
Limited edition collectors box
The EP 133 K.O. II combines vintage-style keys with a modern touch, providing a tactile experience with pressure sensitivity. Its 10" EP format is presented in a limited-edition collector's box, adding to its exclusivity and aesthetic appeal. Get ready to step into the ring with the EP 133 K.O. II - the new champion in the world of samplers, both inside and outside the studio.
CME WIDI for K.O. II/Medieval Bluetooth MIDI Interface
Wireless MIDI made simple
The WIDI for K.O. II and Medieval removes the need for cables or computers when connecting your teenage engineering instruments. By acting as a virtual MIDI cable, it allows your EP-133 or EP-1320 to send and receive MIDI information wirelessly over Bluetooth. This means you can integrate your K.O. II or Medieval into a wider setup without worrying about tangled leads or limited physical connections.
Whether you want to control another piece of MIDI hardware, link with a controller, or sync with software on a computer or tablet, the WIDI handles the connection seamlessly. Once plugged into the TRS MIDI port, it is immediately powered by the instrument itself, keeping everything fully portable and cable free. Simply plug, pair and play.
Ultra low latency and stable performance
One of the main challenges of wireless MIDI is latency, but the WIDI addresses this with its unique smart connectivity algorithms. These algorithms manage data traffic and interference to deliver a latency of only 3ms between two WIDI units. This is faster than human perception and ensures that the playing feel is natural and in sync.
For comparison, standard wired MIDI transmits at 31.25 kbps, while WIDI operates at speeds of up to 400 kbps. This performance allows you to enjoy the freedom of wireless MIDI without compromising timing or accuracy. Adaptive Frequency Hopping further enhances stability by automatically avoiding crowded channels. This means you can use the WIDI in live environments or shared studio spaces without losing connection quality.
Compatible with a wide range of devices
Although designed specifically for teenage engineering’s K.O. II and Medieval units, the WIDI is not limited to those instruments. It connects with any Bluetooth MIDI device, including products from Yamaha, Roland, Korg, Akai and Roli. It can also pair directly with macOS, iOS, Android and Windows devices that support Bluetooth MIDI. With the addition of a WIDI Bud Pro or WIDI Uhost, you can expand this compatibility to platforms such as ChromeOS and Linux for optimal results.
Expandable with groups and app control
The WIDI app for iOS and Android unlocks even more possibilities. It allows you to form groups of up to five WIDI devices, with one acting as the central unit and four as peripherals. These groups can be set to communicate across all 16 MIDI channels, enabling wireless thru, split or merge configurations. Once saved, the groups automatically reconnect from memory, so you do not need to repeat the setup every time. The app also offers personalisation of settings such as latency or jitter optimisation, keeping your system tuned to your performance needs.
